Basal Metabolic Rate (BRM) Calculator

Even when you are sleeping you are expending energy and burning calories. Your Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories that you would burn if you did nothing other than stay in bed all day. BRM is the most important factor in determining your overall metabolic rate and how many calories you need to lose, maintain, or gain weight. BRM Calculator

Exercise to Calorie Converter

Use this form to calculate an estimate of how many calories a particular activity will burn.

Choose an activity:

How long are you going to do this? minutes

What's your weight? pounds

Your calories burned will be:

Note: Figures are based on moderate (as opposed to vigorous) activity. A heavier person burns more calories, so the same amount of physical activity can actually burn the same number of calories but more quickly. But remember, exercising harder and faster only increases the calories expended slightly. To burn more calories it is better to exercise for a longer time.

Determining how many calories you burn is not an exact science. This number should only be used as an estimate of calorie expenditure.

Body Fat Calculator

The Navy uses this formula.

  • Height: taken without shoes
  • Neck: taken below the larynx sloping slightly downward at the front
  • Waist: for men at navel height, for women at the smallest point
  • Hips: (women only) at the largest point
  • Height: be sure to input total height in inches only (ex: for a height of 5 feet you would input 60)

KCal Calculator

Calculate the energy needs of your body based on caloric intake and amount of exercise per day.

EXAMPLE:
Your metabolic rate is the energy measured in calories or Kcalories (1,000 calories), expended by the body at rest to maintain normal functions. This makes up about 70% of the calories the body uses. Your metabolic rate is influenced by quite a number of factors such as gender, age, weight, height, temperature, food, exercise and many other habits.
