Impotence is the condition in which the men are unable to get the erection or to hold the erection for the sufficient time during the sexual intercourse.. All the men like to perform well in the bed, but if they fail to do it, they feel ashamed of themselves. As a result of impotence, men tend to lose their self-esteem and confidence in social life. Because of Impotence men start feeling that they are unable to satisfy their partner’s sexual demands, and certainly start losing interest in life.

“Impotence is 100% curable.” Yes, it is true that with the help of proper treatment under the doctor’s guidance Impotence can be treated and you can get back your harder and long-lasting erection. Treatments through which Impotence can be treated are categorized into two types i.e. Surgical treatment and nonsurgical treatment.

Surgical treatments

Surgical treatment is done by reconstructing the arteries in the sexual organ to increase the blood flow, which results in the long-lasting erections. Suppose if the person is failing to get the erection then surgery is done by implanting the prosthetic device in the sexual organ. As result you start getting the erection. Sometimes even the veins in the sexual organ which allows the blood to flow out the sexual organ are blocked with the help of surgery and thus, you are able to hold the erection for the longer time.

Different types of surgical treatments are as follows:

1. Penile implants

A device in inserted in the sexual organ which helps to get the erection. All the men using this surgery had expressed their satisfaction.

2. Semi rigid or Malleable Rod Implants

In this surgery, two semi rigid or malleable rods are inserted in the sexual organ with the help of surgery and this provides the proper hard erection. Success rate is 70% to 80%.

3. Inflatable Implants

The most expensive treatment with the lots of risk involved. This treatment is not advisable. In this treatment, a pump in placed in scrotum, two cylinders are placed in sexual organ, and a reservoir is placed in the cylinders or separately below the tissues of the lower abdomen. This all parts function together and give you the erection. But, rate of failure is quite high in this treatment.

4. Vascular Reconstructive Surgery

Surgery is done to either reconstruct the arteries in the sexual organ or to block the veins which supply blood out of the sexual organ. This surgery is found to be effective in 90% of the cases.

Nonsurgical Treatments

Nonsurgical treatments are found to be more effective and risk free as compared to the surgical. Doctors always prefer nonsurgical treatment over the surgical treatments.

Nonsurgical treatments are very cheaper when compared with the surgical treatments. Non-surgical treatments also follow the same method for treatment of the Impotence i.e. to increase the blood flow to the sexual organ and stop the blood flow out of the sexual organ.

Different types of nonsurgical treatments are as follows:

1. Vacuum Devices

Treatment through vacuum devices consists of a cylinder that is place over the sexual organ, which pumps out the air out of the sexual organ and allows the more amount of blood to flow into the sexual organ. The treatment is very cheap and effective. Side-effects are pain, numbness, and pulling of scrotal tissue into the cylinder.

2. Drugs

Oral drugs are found to be best medication on the impotence. Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra are found to be the doctor’s and customer’s choice all over the world. These are found to be most effective against the impotence. Side-effects of these drugs are headache, temporary changes in the vision, and nasal congestion. Heart attacks were also found in 1% of the users.

3. Penile Injection Therapy

This therapy includes the injecting the drugs in liquid form directly into the sexual organ. TriMix, Alprostadil, papaverine are the most common drugs injected in the sexual organ to treat impotence. Success rate observed is 90%.

4. Hormonal Therapy
I
Lower concentration of the testosterone is found in majority of men suffering from the impotence. But Impotence can not be treated by increasing the level of testosterone. So, levels of testosterone are increased in combination with some other treatment of Impotence to show the good results.

5. Intraurethral Pellet Therapy

In Intraurethral pellet therapy the drug, Alprostadil, is formulated into a small suppository and this suppository is inserted into the urethra, the canal through which urine and semen are excreted. The drug starts its effect and treats impotence. Side-effects of this therapy are pain in the area where pellet is distributed and sometimes bleeding is also observed.

Hence, we can conclude that nonsurgical treatment is much more effective than the surgical treatment in the treatment of the impotence.
